2 June is Italian National Day (Festa della Repubblica).
This is a big day for celebration in Italy. It’s a national holiday and most public buildings are closed. 2 June is the day the Italian people went to the polls in 1946 to vote Italy into becoming a republic.
Say Viva Italia! in Centotre or The Scottish Cafe – as we are Italian Scots after all – and we will be delighted to give you a complimentary glass of prosecco.
