“Below and very much part of the National Gallery. Victor and Carina Contini (of Centotre) have cast their magic dining dust over the never-quite-worked gallery cafe and now this comfort zone of great Scottish cooking is a destination in itself. You enter from Princes St Gardens which the windows overlook (watch the ice rink in winter) and you walk past the cute herb garden. Cullen Skink, Mac Cheese, Victoria Sponge: your faves are all here! 9am-5.30pm (7pm on Thu). Sun from 10am.”
