Try out our new wine lists and wine flight tastings

May 27, 2012

We’ve been a bit slow this year pulling together our new wine lists. Victor and Lara’s trip to VinItaly has delayed the print run, but we’re now good to go.

We would love you to taste the new wines and let us know what you think.  Pop in anytime and ask for our new wine menu wine flights.

To taste 4 new white wines, all 100ml, costs £10.00. For our selection of 4 red wines (all 100ml), it’s £12.00.  The team will be on hand to talk you through the choices.

Our favourites are:

Verdicchio Classico Superiore 2010 Bucci, Castelli di Jesi (13.5%)   (for all you Chablis fans)

The Bucci Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi (from the Marches region of Italy on the Adriatic coast) is one of those timeless classics of Italian wine white.

A perennial winner of the coveted Gambero Rosso ‘Guide to the Wines of Italy’ Three Glass award, the Villa Bucci is simply one of those wines that everyone loves — from Italian wine enthusiasts to Italian wine industry insiders.

Best enjoyed with: Mozzarella di Buffala, cream-based pastas and fish dishes.

Sangiovese 2010 Poggio del Sasso, Tuscany Jesi  (12.5%)    (for all you Chianti fans)

Poggio del Sasso is a new-age style Sangiovese — young and lush with rich cherry and berry-like fruit.

Clear and ruby red in color, this well-structured wine offers cherries and plums, followed by spicy vanilla and clove aromas. It’s lively and fresh with soft, rounded tannins.

Best enjoyed with: well, where do we start? Try it soon, and let us know your favourite foods to combine it with!
